SuperBill is a company on a mission to save people time and money that they're losing to health insurance. We're fueled by our frustrations with the healthcare system and determined to make it better for everyone.
Founded in 2021 by frien-gineers Sam Schwager and Harrison Caruthers, we built our technology on a simple premise—make it easy for patients to get reimbursed for out-of-network care. Simplify the process. Give patients an advocate.
So we hired a team of insurance experts to help patients navigate their health insurance plans. We've verified benefits, filed and tracked thousands of claims, and fought insurance denials. And so far, patients using Out of Network Insurance have gotten back hundreds of thousands of dollars back from their health insurance plans.
Since our founding, we've listened as countless providers have shared about the burdens they carry. The ways insurance companies rob them of time and energy. So we continue to develop solutions for out-of-network insurance billing, automating insurance calls, and streamlining provider workflows. Because providers should be able to focus on what they do best, caring for their patients.
Sam Schwager co-founded SuperBill in 2021 and serves as CEO. Having personally experienced the frustrations of health insurance claims, his mission is to demystify health insurance and medical bills for other confused patients. Sam has a Computer Science degree from Stanford and formerly worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Co in San Francisco.

Harrison is a software developer in the Bay Area. Before SuperBill, he worked as an engineer for Amazon in Madrid. While in Spain, Harrison developed an appreciation for both Mediterranean cooking and simplified healthcare systems. He returned to the Bay to co-found SuperBill with fellow Stanford grad Sam Schwager after mounting frustrations with US insurance networks.

Regina is passionate about transforming the cryptic healthcare billing process into a delightfully intuitive user experience. Equipped with a background in engineering and experience designing for diverse personas, she focuses on putting users first and making SuperBill’s platform a joy to use.

Christian is a Bay Area software engineer who studied Computer Science at UW Madison. He loves working in startups and feels lucky having worked in teams that built two unicorns from the ground up. He is excited to bring innovation in healthcare at SuperBill.

Hannah is a registered dietitian and certified eating disorder specialist in Houston, TX. With a BA in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics and a minor in Business from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, Hannah has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and understands the frustrations of insurance. If you're a provider, Hannah is ready to support you, your business, and your mission to increase access to care.

After starting her career as a dietitian, Morgan realized how much of a gap exists between clients with eating disorders and accessibility to care. She enjoys supporting clients and their families in navigating healthcare to receive care that they need, and does this through her marketing role with SuperBill and her design + strategy studio supporting clinicians and their online presence.

He received his BA in English from Williams College and his MFA in Creative Writing from The University of Alabama. In his spare time, he is writing a book of short stories called You Must Relax.
